Tips On Building Your Email List

I'm sure you have heard so many different people talking about how important it is to build your newsletter list. You may be thinking that since you are a photographer, you don't need a newsletter list but that could not be further from the truth. I promise it is absolutely beneficial for you and your business - and one of the best things that I ever implemented into mine!

You can make a lot of money off of the newsletters which is a great added bonus to your regular income! One month I made over 4k just on the sales from the newsletter. So it's vital to your business!

But when your clients give you access to being in their inbox, you want to make sure you are serving them well and making it worthwhile. You will need to do some brainstorming, and think of some ways that you can offer your clients more value. Whether that is through special sales, lingerie guides, updating them on happenings with your business, behind the scene sneak peeks, etc. There are endless options of things to put in! It may take some time to get to know your target audience a bit more, but be sure to fill your newsletter up with all kinds of goodies even when you are starting out!

Building your email list

Once your newsletter is already drafted up, you might be wondering how you get clients to actually join your list! One of the best ways to get clients to sign up is to offer some kind of freebie. Whether it is a lingerie guide or a calendar, you want to make sure you put some thought into it. Once your freebie is created, be sure to set up your freebie as an opt in to your newsletter list to entice future clients to sign up. This means that they will receive that free document when they sign up!

Be sure to add a sign up box to a few different places on your website. It's always great to have it on your homepage but be sure to add it to a few other places throughout your website. This way, potential clients who are looking at your website will be reminded again and again to sign up for your newsletter list.

If you attend any kind of bridal event, be sure to have a newsletter sign up list available. Someone who is interested in your offer but isn't ready to book a shoot just yet will most likely love to sign up for your newsletter. This way they can see what is happening at your studio and what kinds of sales that you offer throughout the year. It's a great way to stay in peoples minds after events too! Not everyone will book a session right then and there.

These are just a few basic tips on building your email list. Don't be afraid to edit and change your newsletter over time, it's okay if it's not perfect on the first try. It takes time and effort to build your list but I promise you are on the right track!
