Time Management Tips

Time management is one of those things that I think most people struggle with, especially entrepreneurs. When you are running your own business, it usually seems like the days fly by and your to do list only grew. I am constantly wondering where the time went between editing, shoots and meeting with clients. I've learned that managing my time is so extremely important. It's one of those things that I've definitely had to train myself to get better at. Just like anyone else, I also have those days where I just want sit on the couch watching Netflix and snacking on popcorn.  Here are a few things that I have learned over the years.

Have a plan


It may seem so dreamy to just wing it everyday but I can't stress enough that having a plan is essential to getting things done. One of the biggest mistakes we can do is to just do whatever comes your way. Having discipline and a schedule will give you an idea of when to work and when to take off. This will help you with getting things done and planning out your meetings throughout the week! Whether you love digital calendars or the classic paper planner - find what works for you and use it. Write down your daily schedule and to do's to help keep you on track. 


Setting boundaries is huge for your productivity! Set some work hours for yourself and set aside time in your week for social media scrolling, family time, friend time and personal time. Taking the time to enjoy your life will help you be more productive in the week because you let your mind unwind and relax for a little bit. The more you stay on the go, the longer it will take for you to get some things done. It can be really hard to shut that laptop but I promise it is so important when it comes to your schedule.

Batch work

Batch like your life depends on it! Batching is when you group tasks together into certain blocks of time. Instead of going task by task, day by day, try scheduling out all of your social media posts for the month on a few hours. Once you get it done, you won't have to deal with scheduling for a whole month! Once you get into the flow of things, it can be more beneficial to just keep going with it instead of stopping and switching tasks. 


I swear routines are genius when it comes to time management! I find that the mornings I just lay around for a while, I have the hardest time getting into work mode. But the days that I stick to my morning routine and get up, workout, and get dressed for the day helps me feel ready for the day and ready to tackle the to do list. I try really hard to not look at my phone first thing in the morning - this is one of the hardest tasks and I don't always stick to it. But, having some me time in the morning and sticking to my routine helps me get in a little self care time before dedicating my day to clients.

These are just a few of the time management tips that I try to practice each and every week. It may take some practice but within a few weeks, you will find yourself being more and more productive. What is your favorite time management hack? Comment below!
