Branding Your Blog Posts
Establishing your brand is one of the most important steps in starting a business. It’s important to build your brand to be true to you but also unique and allow you to stand out in a sea of photographers. If you are just starting out, it can be hard to figure out how to get your branding complete, especially when you see all these words like “brand awareness and recognition “ being thrown around all the time in the online space.
After you’re branding is complete for your business, you may be thinking you are done. Unfortunately, when you run your own business it seems like nothing is ever completely done. When it comes to the different pieces of content that you work on, you should be sure that they look branded as well. Branding your blogs post is important because it will help readers identify the posts as content from your company. If they come across your blog post on Pinterest or in a google search, everything will look consistent and beautiful!
Here are a few different tips to help you brand your blog posts.
Think About Your Website
What does your website look like? It’s important to keep in mind that overall design of your site to make sure that your blogs stay in that same design. If you only use one font throughout your blog, it doesn’t make sense to use 5 different fonts in your blog posts. If your website design is minimal, try to keep your blog post design the same. Keeping everything cohesive and consistent not only looks better but will help your readers identify your brand every time they see something from you.
Colors & Fonts
Keeping your colors and your fonts the same is so important. It may not seem like a big deal but it’s what makes your brand identifiable. If you are constantly changing colors and fonts, it may confuse your readers and your clients. When you go through your initial branding, choose colors that you love! You can always rebrand later down the road but you don’t want to be changing your colors all the time.
When you are choosing photos for your blog posts, keep in mind the vibe of your brand. You want to make sure that you are choosing photographs that work well with your brand. If you want to do with the bright and airy vibe, choosing dark and moody photos may not be the best decision.
I recommend having a folder of photos that you absolutely love and are fitting for your brand. If you can find some time, pull as many photos as you can together that are perfect for you. When you do the work ahead of time, when it comes time to choose photos, you will have plenty of brand fitting photographs to pick from.
These are just a few simple ways that you can ensure that you are staying consistent with your blog posts. It may seem like a no brainer but it’s such a great way to keep your brand looking the best!
